Do auction lengths come down as time goes?

I noticed that most people list cards for 1 day+. This is rather annoying lol

Does this tend to change as the game goes and player base expands? Having played MUT/HUT these long auctions really make grinding the AH less fun.

Can someone explain the benefit of listing a bronze card for 25 buy 100 buy now for 4 days?

I'm new here but maybe it just gives more time for someone accidentally click "Buy now".

It does make sense on a buy now, but doesn't make sense for a card worth 100-1000. I might be in a minority but I always sort by time left to see what to bid on. All the action happens in the last minute anyways.
