Negro League players issue?

Has anyone else run into this problem? I have two open spots on my roster (1942 Cubs). I have over $100,300 available for free agents. I turned off the color barrier. But when I try to add a Negro League player, I get a message that says "Purchase failed. Your roster is full or you do not have enough cash." Have I found a bug? Or just missed changing a setting?

I suppose that's possible, but I tried purchasing a white player from a low-level minor league and got the same message.

what are the purchase prices for players from the negro and minor leagues, check those in the rules tabs for those leagues, maybe they're set too high, otherwise it could be a bug.

you also need to have the box checked to allow the purchase from minors or Negro Leagues. (If you have color barrier active, i doubt you will be able to purchase from the Negro leagues, but haven't tested that.)

$8900. I dropped it down to $3000 and still nothing.

Thanks, I went back and looked and the box is checked.

Maybe you need more cash (which usually relatively low in this game) rather than money available for free agents.

Aha! That seems to be the issue. I should have thought of that, I've played this game long enough. I went into commish mode, gave myself a bit of cash and it worked.

You just have to check the box to include the real minors when setting up a new historical league.
