A Very Different League.

NOTE: We are still a OOTP14 league but we are changing to OOTP15 after this season is over.

Looking for active, veteran owners that are up for a challenge and would rather focus on winning than fighting for draft picks/prospects. This is a 1-year recalc historical random debut league with a customized DB that includes Negro League and Cuban League players.

• League Name: National Association of Baseball Players (NABBP)

• Forums are part of SimNation

• Random Debut Historical 1 Year Recalc – The database used for this league is a custom DB that was designed over a careful 6 month evaluation period. The database includes 50 Negro, Cuban, and International league players – you’ll have major names like Satchel Paige/Josh Gibson and smaller names like Heavy Johnson/ Slim Jones. Those players will come into the league in their 20s and play their prime years in the NABBP.

• Financials will be extremely difficult. Revenue will be based solely on amount of tickets sold. No market/jersey sales revenue. No media contract revenue. No revenue sharing. A CBA process will occur every 3 years in which the financial landscape of the league will be evaluated. If there is too much free cash in the league, player salary demands rise & vice-versa.

• Draft is 100% random. There will be no reward for coming in last, and with the financials in place there will be limited stockpiling of cash. The intent of this league is for every team to compete, year in and year out, and to maximize player movement. Don't join this league if you love to tank to win or if you like having your entire 25 man roster locked down for eternity.

• Minor League Free Agency after 1 year, Arbitration for 5 Years, No extensions for players until their 4th Service Year (see Rules in forums for additional details)

• Sims 3x a week, 7 days each sim. Sims will occur Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.

Let me know if you're interested!!!

I'd like Walter Johnson.

Would I be the Washington Nationals or the Minnesota Twins?

This would be my first league. I'm not a veteran. I like dead all era sims and the 1901 and historical recalc seems neat.

I'd be very interested and would like the Cards if possible. I've been playing OOTP for over five years and certainly feel I have veteran status. This sounds like a fun, challenging league.

I'm looking for a new historical league and this sounds great! I'm active in two leagues and have been playing since v 5 or so. I'll take the Athletics. My email is brandon@discontent.com

I'd like to take the NY Mets and Tom Seaver if available.

Email is metfan13@hotmail.com

I've been playing OOTP online leagues since v6.5

Been in a couple of leagues that ran for decades (Time Warp, PBRL). This one looks a lot different.

And a question. With the yearly recalc, we'll be starting in 1901 with deadball era and recalc each year so that all players are normalized for the style of play in the era we're playing? So a slugger like Bonds if included in 1901 would hit maybe 12 homers?

Commish is headed to VEGAS for a few days, so will be off the map, but I can help with this:
1901 will largely be only the date with which we start, most of the league settings will NOT reflect a 1901 environment. The league modifiers will definitely be set to a more average/neutral environment. So Bonds will not hit 12 home runs in this example, depending on where he is in his recalc, he will be rated to hit more in the 25-45 range. (And who knows when he hits his 2001 season!)

We will start off some financial figures- average ticket prices, average attendance, average salaries, etc.- that are reminiscent of the early 1900's, but that's about it.

Hope that helps.

I would be interested in this league and the Nationals if they are available. As far as the player, I would need some clarification on the limitations since it says a player in franchise history. Since the Nationals franchise is the same as the Expos, can it include players from Montreal as well or am I completely limited to Washington Nationals/Senators? If it is the entire franchise, I choose Vladimir Guerrero but if it is just the Nationals, I need to give it more thought.

I am not seeing an application anywhere but I am the commissioner of MLB Pro (link below) if you need some sort of sense of my credentials. Let me know what I need to do.

The Washington Nationals are available -

With Pete Rose and Vladimir Guerrero on the roster, this team is built for upcoming success.

Let me know if interested. Also, the Nationals will be on the clock in our first amateur draft in the next 10 or so hours.
