Would be great to be able to edit or create players, but I think the most critical enhancement has to do with being able to browse the historical league and player data. If the game itself can't handle the task, then an export feature would suffice. |

Some things I'd like to see
First and foremost, an editor. I actually had Willie McCovey on my team as a '43' Thirdbaseman! Not first, but 3rd!! This is just one of the more glaring examples (don't get me started on guys losing all of their fielding ratings.
Also tired of seeing real life starters become nothing more than middle relievers. I've even tried converting them to starters, to no avail. Pitchers that are(ie) 20/74, rarely ever improve. I've drafted whole teams of these guys and watched them (for the most part) just fade away as miserable failures. Stolen base percentages are horrible. I've documented this on this forum in other threads. Guys with career 80% plus sb pcts (think Lopes, etc) rarely get above 70% if even that high. I would love to be able to draft cross era like the PC game. Foo |

Clear All button added to your lineup and depth charts.
Ability to sim more than a week at a time. More diamonds in the rough in the drafts. Better logic in upgrading historical players when simulating season to season. As it is, if a guy wasn't drafted high, he won't turn out to be much. Best example is Nolan Ryan. I've never been able to get him to turn into anything. Can't even get the guy into my starting rotation because his stamina sucks when you draft him. |

Fix the 163 game bug. I've gotten it twice in 5 season plays.
How about more historical stats? It'd be nice to look back on past seasons and see some form of stats. |

I rarely play the desktop version anymore, so support for iOOTP is crucial for me. :/ Here would be my simple suggestions:

Career and single season records - when playing a single league for 15+ years it would be cool to look back at stats like these, especially as a statistics nut myself
Less selective HOF - also when a league lasts for 15+ years some rather mediocre players (ie. 200-200 W-L, 3.50 ERA pitchers) are selected to the Hall of Fame and really bog it down. Have a less selective system or the ability for the players to select HOF inductees from a generated list Player editing - batting/pitching/fielding ratings and personal info. One league I created is based on national teams and it would be cool if all the players on the American or Japanese team were American or Japanese Rotational issue - maybe this is only me, and it is not too annoying, but when playing on the iPad, the screen sticks in one spot and turning the device upside down causes the four finger swiping to get all funky, like the iPad is in one direction, and the game is in another Anyway, this series has by far been my favorite on a mobile device, and I'm sure any changes from iOOTP 13 will be welcoming |

- player reached base in all 6 plate appearances, all walks. - player had 7+ RBI. - player his two grand slams. - team scored 20+ runs. - game went 18+ innings. I propose that more things like the above merit news articles such as the 3 HR and 5 hit news stories. Quote:

Of course, doing this will show you the full list of major league HR leaders (or any other stat) but would not help if you care which league they're in. Quote:
YES! Something in between no guidance at all and giving complete control to the AI. I often find the draft to be a complete crapshoot and if the AI knows a trick I don't I'll consider my staff's suggestions. |

+1 to this suggestion! I used to carry a great defensive CF and SS who could cover every position late in games, but stopped because the only way to insure they were used in their intended roles was to manually manage each game. This feature might make it worth carrying a defensive specialist again.

This has to be the #1 most requested feature I have seen since I've been on here. It was hinted once that it was being worked on. A separate app to edit the league and players would be fine (even at additional cost, IMO).

Very interesting, and something I had once thought of in passing -- why is a hopelessly out of contention team unwilling to move a player for prospects? You sometimes see real teams have a "fire sale" in order to rebuild, but all teams in iOOTP are always in play for today mode. |

My suggestions for new feaures that have not already been listed above:
1. A "shopping cart" so when I ask about a player and am told they are untouchable, or have been in the league <1 year, or whatever, I can add that player to my shopping cart and be notified when they are available (after next year's draft, they are put on the trade block, etc.) 2. A full cumulative box score for the playoffs that is viewable for your team and your opponent between games and is saved for the champions and viewable in the "Past Champions" screen. 3. Career playoff stats for players so I can weed out the chokers without relying on my faulty memory. 4. Change the player development model so that players' defense develops faster than their offense. The reverse seems to be true now. 5. Ability to categorize players as "top of the order," "Middle of the lineup," "defensive whiz," etc. This would make it easier to find the player I want for a certain situation, but if done properly would allow me to set certain reserves as top of the order hitters so when my usual lead off hitter is sitting, the dopey AI will stop putting my slug footed catcher in the lead off spot!! 6. Fix the "Hot/Cold" setting so that (a) a player does not stay hot after six weeks on the DL and (b) can get over a cold streak in the minors. It's pretty common to see a struggling player sent to the minors to "work on his mechanics" and later come back to the majors hitting or pitching better. I realize iOOTP cannot realistically simulate playing the minors due to memory constraints, but having a hot or cold streak expire after, say, two weeks in the minors should be possible. 7. A "Trade for Player" screen that shows only active players that were drafted more than a year ago. Either add the option to only show players on a minor league contract or add a second "Trade for Prospect" screen that only shows available players without a salary. |

Maybe the pending offers screen can be an Action off the Free Agents page or the Front Office page. |

Dear Mr. Developers, please revamp the trading system by trying to think about how EASY you can make it for us to go from "hey, I'd like to make a trade" to "trade completed" (e.g. minimize number of clicks/taps, reduce how much the user needs to remember between screens, etc.). And make sure that it is so. Then tell us that it's new and improved in iOOTP 2014. |

Would anyone else like to see trade value for players being traded? The perfect example for this would be NHL 14 Be a GM mode. I'm not sure if trade value is in OOTP or not.
It would be great to see just how much a players value is rather than guessing what his value might be. |

Another bug
Here's another bug that hopefully would be easy to eliminate (although it won't help you sell iOOTP 2014).
Scenario: you exit the game while in the middle of playing a game against an opponent. Hours later, you reenter the game. You end up at the Manager Home screen after selecting Continue Game. Bug: If you don't notice that the middle bottom button says "Resume" vs. "Play", you might not realize that you are in the middle of playing a game against an opponent. You then have the ability to change your roster inadvertently (or intentionally). This would be most serious if you trade a player away when he is currently in your lineup. Solution: Disable the ability to make roster changes while playing a game. However, DON'T do this unless you also add the functionality of being able to see complete player ratings (e.g. L/R breakdown) inside a game as this is a very awkward but possible-in-desperation workaround. |

Two more bugs to be fixed....
- if a SP is suspended, leaving his spot open, you can manually pick him to pitch the game. - AI teams put injured players on the 60day DL. Human GM can only select DL with automatic 15days. Problem with this are the service days counting for longer injured youngsters on the 15day DL. And a minor thing, suspensions are always a day too short, bc. before continuing to next day, one day of the suspension is always served... Teamoverview: if the human team is in 1st place, itīll be nice to add something like "tied for 1st place" or "up by 2 games". I know that MLB does not use this, but for quick sims itīll help a lot to avoid always opening the standings view. |

Agreed. For that matter, if your team is tied for any position, it would be better if it said "Position: 3rd place (tied)" if your team is tied in the standings, percentage-wise.

Consolidating UI elements
If you need room in the UI for extra features, you can remove the extra access points to News. There is no reason to have anything except the tiny mail icon at the top (with the little number that indicates the unread ones).
In addition, "Hall of Fame" and "Past Champions" can be merged into one item called "History" to fit more items on the main League screen. Then you can put more Historically-related items on the History screen. |
