Just doesn't sound right for LV....Maybe NHL needs the FHM Community help to name there newest team.

I always use Nevada Sidewinders or Las Vegas Lights when making an expansion team for them. The Sidewinders one is cool because it's both a Snake and a Missile so you could do something really cool with the logo. Lights is another one of those names like the Wild. Where you can take the logo in so many different directions.

But I wouldn't mind a name like Atomics either. |

Ah, but the desert was used for a lot of tests. The cool thing about the 'Atomics' moniker is all the different color and logo styles they could go with. But if the NHL doesn't want gambling, I really doubt they'll want this as well.

Vegas Outlaws?
At first I thought the lights was simply too basic...but maybe it might bring that uniqueness out.

Yeah probably not. They really should just accept the fact that Las Vegas was built on gambling and use it in their name.

Las Vegas Black Velvet Elvis
The jerseys would be stellar, and game day ops would feature all Elvis songs: Goal song: Viva Las Vegas Opponent goal: Don't be Cruel Home penalty: Suspicious Minds During a fight: Love Me Tender |

They're an expansion team, so they may as well call them the Las Vegas Craps, since that's what kind of hockey they'll be playing for the first few years. Too harsh?

What about the Vegas Tricks? It has a bit of a double entendre quality about it being a gambling town and, well, having other entertainment that the local ladies offer.
Shoot whenever a hometown player scores three goals they could even call it "turning a trick" instead of hat trick! I love this. I hope someone from the Fegas expansion franchise committee is watching. This idea has all of the class that is represented on the Strip wrapped into one neat little concept.

Desert Storm sounds better.
I prefer the Las Vegas VD's with the logo being a hockey stick shooting diseased fluid. |

Three names have been registered and approved by the NHL. Owner Bill Foley has said he has already chosen which one out of the three will be used.
It will either be Silver Knights, Golden Knights or Desert Knights. Black Knights was already registered by the Army so couldn't be used.
