Bruins On Verge of Sweep
Devils Fall at Home and Down 3-0 in Series Round 2, Game 3 Boston @ New Jersey Mark Messier sparked the Bruins with 1 goal, and 2 assists in the 3-1 victory over New Jersey. Messier has been fairly quiet to this point, and it was only a matter of time before he came to life. Once again, scoring was a problem for the Devils. Alain Cote scored the only Devils goal. One of the unsung heroes for the Bruins has been backup goalie Daren Machesney. Machesney was signed in April when starting goalie Pelle Lindbergh went down with an injury. Machesney has only allowed 2 total goals in the last 2 games. The Bruins and Devils will play game 4 in East Rutherford, and the Devils need a win to stay alive. Bruins goalie Daren Machesney |
