Question on Fan Loyalty

Does anyone have a good grasp on what drives fan loyalty?

I have been in an online sim league that transfers every few sim years to the newest release. My team loyalty went from astronomical to good basically overnight at some point. Team has made the playoffs every year for the last decade, FI usually around 95-100, never below 90. A bit perplexed. Thanks, sorry if this topic has come up before.

What's your turn over of popular players? Are you letting guys hit free agency or trading away stars to save money?
