Is it Possible .....
Is it possible to create a player (from the player creation button under league>edit>create player) whose free agent type is restricted with an entry level contract (in a custom league)?
When I create a young player who still has junior eligibility but has signed his first pro contract, it shows him as being of free agent type unrestricted. Am I missing something. FYI, I have no control of any teams in my league, I am strictly the commissioner. |

Set his rights to belong to the pro team, but don't give him a contract, that effectively makes him an RFA.

Thanks for your reply, but that's not quite what I was looking for. I am talking about a player who is under contract but the Free Agent Type is set for Restricted (I believe this to mean the type of Free Agent he will be when his contract expires). See Examples.
The first image is from FHM2, the second is from FHM4. I have circled the difference. Is there any way to change it in FHM4 so that this player will be restricted when his contract expires? |

No, that's calculated automatically (aside from the database rosters used at the start of a modern game.) But in this case it looks like the calculation is being made incorrectly - a player born in 1997 can't possibly hit UFA status with a contract that ends in 2020. I'll check that a little further to see what's going on there.

In the past (in FHM2), when July 1st came in my league, I would find all of the players listed as unrestricted and change their rights from "Free" to which ever team they played for last. This sort of made them restricted. |

Ah, that explains it. No, no way to directly change the RFA/UFA status. I'll see if we can add it back, though; I can't think of anything that it'd break.
