Historical simmers vote here
For those who mostly want to use OOTP 2006 for historical sims, what is your opinion now that we're at patch #2.

I'm still optimistic, but . . . I'm still not too satisfied with AI roster decisions. I don't mind making some manual changes to lineups, depth charts, rotation, etc., before starting the season. Right now, though, it requires too much work to get it ready to go.
Some Qs, for those who might have some thoughts on the subject . . . 1. Does anyone have tweaks/tips to share? 2. What database do you prefer? 3. Why would the AI choose to make a SP (with a 20-win season the previous year) into a MR the next? |

I use garlon's new database. I dunno why they move starters to MR at around 30 after very good seasons. I just had Cy Young have that happen to him too. Very odd.

A BIG part of why this happens is that the rookies you import or the young players that develop have equal or better ratings to the "20 game winners" you are referring to. Until the game is hard coded to value previous performance over current ratings then 20 game winners will continue to become MRs. Why the makers of OOTP can't understand this concept is what we really need to figure out. As always the game doesn't care about names and it doesn't care about a player's career numbers.
