I just finished my best tournament yet. It was an open best-of-7 with 64 teams that started yesterday. I made it to the semi-finals against RealMadrid. It was a classic battle which included a 14-inning game followed by a 19-inning game. We were both exhausted coming off that series, which I won in 7. Next up was the Washington Explorers managed by joehart, one of the top 5 teams in all of PT based on wins. We took the series in 5 games with all five starters needed due to the exhausted pitching staff and no off-days. Beating these two great teams is probably my best achievement yet in Perfect Team since the initial launch. The diamond pack reward was nice too (got a Live Morton).

Funny, the very first pitcher I face in the first tournament I check after reading this is Live Charlie Morton of the Kannapolis Intimidators.

I recently realized that most of the teams I have been facing in the 8 team quick tourneys are perfect teams. I mean seriously perfect. One guy has all 100s and 99 players. So I felt great when I managed to get to the finals of a best of 3 league with my largely silver and gold team, taking down two teams with all diamond and perfect players in the process. Finally succumbed to the third one but only lost 4-1 and 3-2.

That's how I felt in my first season promoted to Perfects. The Silver Sox... all HOF 100s (24) plus I believe a 94 Ken Dayley, which by the way his team was arranged he seemed somewhat reluctant to use. I didn't realize you could acquire all those cards.

Once a signed up for tournament is expanded from the list, there's a paragraph of rules for the tournament and a Withdraw button on the left...the teams that have signed up on the right.

The only exception is that when a tournament fill up, you cannot withdraw anymore (as it starts creating the league file as soon as that happens)

Tournaments General Discussion
Does home field matter or are all the tournaments neutral site?
Do we lose the defensive training and does this have an affect? In other I trained players to play a different position, but if this does not apply to tournaments is that 2b not effective in tourney play? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Training doesn't carry over from your Perfect Team seasons but they're considering changing that.

That result baffles me...
It's a terrible result. Do I now need to track down all the cards' vanilla version to see what their defensive ratings used to be? Do I need another excel sheet? Sometimes this playerbase indeed *baffles* me.

It shows the original defensive ratings when you look at a card within a tournament.
I'm just going to assume that the "vote again" option was just a chance to change your vote and they kept it at one per IP address at least. If someone is going thru multiple VPNs to stuff the ballot box over this then more power to you. However the method at least a final decision was made quickly instead of a constant "maybe later" Last edited by dkgo; 11-15-2019 at 10:42 AM. |

I wonder how many unique voters there were. Whatever, if it's almost 50-50 then why not have both? You can avoid splitting the player base by having training allowed in odd numbered season weeks, and no training in even numbered season weeks.

Keeping different lineups for every format that I have to switch off each week sounds awful.

I voted for training, but can take it or leave it.... just means I don't have to bother with training up a lot of lower tier cards for iron/bronze/silver tourneys... might have to revamp some lineup ideas, but that's part of the fun |

Surely people must feel the same about training in PT season play as in tournaments? There’s no way people just voted for keeping two sets of books, which is what I have been doing since tournaments began. I assume the people voting “no training” aren’t training their players in PT season play either (otherwise, WTF?), so if that’s how people want to play, let’s get rid of training all around instead of maintaining two parallel universes.

I'm not sure such a fundamental change to PT as a whole should be based on such a small sample size. Especially one that was so close.
