Awesome! As Johnny said, this could get me excited in TBCB again. (Which I've not touched much lately, mainly due to being sick of computers.)

Ok guys, here it is.
http://www.irregardlessproductions.com/TBCBHistory.zip I hope I didn't forget anything. Let me know if anyone has any problems with this. Since it's only reading off the CSV file, it doesn't interact with any of the game data files at all, so you don't have to worry about it effecting your universe. I suggest just unzipping this into your Exchange folder since that's where the game exports the CSV file (the default location anyway) Last edited by sabotai; 03-13-2005 at 04:13 PM. |

Just tried it out and it was a breeze to use. Looks outstanding but I did notice a few errors on the title pages though. For example
Ike Williams is the only lightweight champ I have ever had and this was the print out WBC Lightweight Title History 9/5/1946 - Ronnie James (0-0-0) KO6 Harold Green (17-0-0) 9/18/1946 - Enrique Bolanos (22-1-0) TKO15 Willie Pep (16-0-0) 2/23/1947 - Ike Williams (18-0-0) KO3 Joe Brown (12-2-0) 6/13/1947 - Bob Montgomery (29-11-0) UD15 Billy Smith (19-0-0) 9/12/1947 - Art Aragon (0-0-0) TKO13 Jack Hassen (20-0-0) I will regenerate the history export and try again to see if that is where the problem lies.

Could you go to those dates in the year-by-year section and see if they say WBC title next to those fights and if they are LW fights?

Awesome sabotai!
I had 25,840 records output to the csv file and your program had the output done in no time. I walked to the fridge to get coke, figuring it would take a while and it was done when I walked back to my desk!

Just reran it and here is the LW title fight html page.
WBC Lightweight Title History 9/5/1946 - Ronnie James (3-5-1) KO6 Ike Williams (17-0-0) 9/18/1946 - Enrique Bolanos (14-0-0) TKO15 Ike Williams (16-0-0) 2/23/1947 - Ike Williams (19-3-2) KO3 Jackie Paterson (12-2-0) 6/13/1947 - Bob Montgomery (10-0-0) UD15 Ike Williams (19-0-0) 9/12/1947 - Art Aragon (14-4-1) TKO13 Ike Williams (20-0-0) All the fights are title bouts but Williams won them all. I dont have time now but late tonight I will go through what you ask.

When you check it out, go into the game and see if Ike Williams did fight those guys and if the decisions were as listed.
Also, zip up your csv file and email it to me at chronokhan@yahoo.com so I can run it through the debug and see what's going on. |

Took a look at Williams and everything in the csv appears listed properly. Let me know if you want me to check anything else out. I am off to my Sunday hockey league game but should be back on line around 11 pm eastern. To break down the lightweight title fights displayed on the HTML page WBC Lightweight Title History 9/5/1946 - Ronnie James (3-5-1) KO6 Ike Williams (17-0-0) everything is correct except Williams not James won by KO 6. 9/18/1946 - Enrique Bolanos (14-0-0) TKO15 Ike Williams (16-0-0) Same as above Williams won KO 15 2/23/1947 - Ike Williams (19-3-2) KO3 Jackie Paterson (12-2-0) Williams did not ever fight Paterson, a flyweight. Paterson did have a Flyweight title fight with Speedy Akira on 2/23/47 and lost by KO in the 15th. Williams fought and KO 3 win over Joe Brown on the same date in LW title fight. 6/13/1947 - Bob Montgomery (10-0-0) UD15 Ike Williams (19-0-0) Reversed as Williams not Montgomery won the decision. 9/12/1947 - Art Aragon (14-4-1) TKO13 Ike Williams (20-0-0) also reversed as Williams beat Aragon by TKO13 on that date. So somewhere along the way the winner and loser are getting reversed and there also seems to be an issue when two titles are contested on the same date. Hope that helps a little. Also is anyone else seeing multiple links to each weight class on the index page. Here is a shot from my index page as an example. Btw, all the categories do link to the correct title page.

Works great, but he's right the title history is pretty messed up. Considering you just added that yesterday though ..... Great utility and thanks for the effort. I, for one, will use this alot!!!

Very slick job! The fight listing is great. The title bout listing, which I am most interested in does do some odd things. In mine it is listing bouts and opponents that were not even for the title. Steffan Tangstad got one title shot and was blown out. The title bout listing shows him as winning two title fights. The folks back in Norway are thrilled.
It seems to be inverting fighter records and picking up non-title bouts for some reason. The non title bouts though are generaly involving fighters that did engage in a future title fight, so maybe something is just out of sync. It is a very clean, easy little program to run tough - very nice job sabotai.

The messed up listing of the weight classes pretty much tells me it's not ordering correctly.
Also, When I open up your CSV file, it starts with the FighterNum of 2. In my CSV file, it starts with 1. That's what I think is the source of the switched fighters. I figured all CSV files would start with 1 but I guess not. That should be an easy fix. The big problem with your CSV file, however, is that there is a 7 line gap in it in which the fighter's name is not recorded (but a record is) and the fighter numbers are messed up. And then soon after that there seems to be a gap of many lines (maybe 100 or so). And then there's one more small one. My guess is either your database is corrupted, you have deleted fighters who have fought at some point or the game isn't exporting the csv for you correctly for some reason. Before you do anything, though, I'm going to put that Fighter Number fix in and see if that works. Then I'll see about the titles. |

Ok, I put in the fight number fix and now it does show Ike Williams winning all of his fights now, so that should (famous last words. ) fix the problem with winner and loser being switched.
But for your CSV output TigersFan, it's a mess in there. The reason why Jackie Paterson shows up fighting Ike Williams and not Joe Brown is because Paterson's fight is right after Ike's. Since you have a gap of an uneven number before this, it's messing everything up. The way the CSV file works is that it outputs 2 lines for every 1 fight. 1 line for each fighter. Since you have a gap of an odd amount, it's completely messing up the order. The problem now that I see as well is that in one spot, right after the gap, the fight results are a little messed up as well. So...you CSV file is quite messes up TigersFan. I'm not sure if I'm going to able to get it to correct all of the problems with it. Last edited by sabotai; 03-13-2005 at 08:47 PM. |

Uploaded new version (1.1)
The correct winners and losers should show now. I just assumed the CSV outputed 1,2,1,2,1,2,etc. but, when I looked at TigersFan's, his went 2,1,2,1,2,1,etc. and then in some cases, it liked to switch (2,1,2,1,2,2,1,2,1,2,etc.). So now it records the number and it should be fine now. I think I also figured out the weight class ordering for the Title History. Also, if anyone still has weird occurances happen, open up the CSV file and see if you have any gaps (records where the fighter's name is missing). If there aren't any, go ahead and email me your csv file to the email address I posted above and I'll see what's going on with it. Last edited by sabotai; 03-13-2005 at 09:30 PM. |
