Contracts
Probably a couple dumb questions on contracts but the manual doesn't cover much on them.
1) Is it common to sign a player to a big contract, have him on your roster and then a week later have him sign with someone else? Does a no movement clause prevent this or is it a bug? I know I cant negotiate with guys under contract with other teams. 2) If you submit an offer to a player but he doesn't sign it, how long does it take until the money is put back in your budget? Is there a time limit on submitted offers or does the money stay committed until he signs somewhere else? |

As long as you have an open offer to a player. Once he signs someone else or you take your offer back the money is available again.

1. There were two players. I'm with Fife of the EIHL. Ted Brithen signed with me on July 3rd for 5yrs at 105,000 per year but signed with Vaxio Lakers HC for a bunch more on July 9th. Robin Alvarez signed with Fife on July 1st for 71,000 a year then signed with the Malmo Redhawks for 210,000 on the 9th. Is it as simple as some leagues just don't honor the contracts of smaller leagues? Would a no movement clause stop that? Can I take them to court in the game to force them to negotiate a buy out price? haha It worked out, I replaced them with somewhat similar players for less money. 2. How do you take it back after it has been submitted? It wasn't showing up on my open contracts list. It worked out too, the money was put back in my budget a couple weeks later. I assume because he signed elsewhere. |

We put it on our to-do list for FHM 4 to better communicate this rule (list the leagues involved + special news/pm), so the user has a better overview. You can either use the Manager Home Screen (one of the selectable widgets) or the FA Center to withdraw open offers. To check out if money is still open, you can use the Finances Screen. Should you see that you don´t have any open offers and the Finance Screen still shows open offers, please let us know.
