Inaugural Drafts?

I feel like the hardest part about getting a fictional league, or fantasy draft MLB league off the ground has to be getting through the inaugural draft with very few hiccups.

What are the best ways to accomplish an inaugural draft in an online league? Nobody wants to wait around for a month while you sim a round a day with draft lists, but who really has the time to sit and watch a live draft occur on a forum or through StatsLab?

Is it even feasible to do a significant amount of rounds in the inaugural draft (25)? Or are leagues better off simply setting up teams and having the commissioner sim 10+ years into the future to make each team random, thus giving no one an advantage and avoiding the inaugural draft?

watch out for gms that draft only prospects. they suffer thru 3-4 seasons and then dominate completely.

also bear in mind that they take the initial best prospects and then because they start out losing they get the best picks for another 2-3 years

Draft teams instead of players. Rig the next years draft to reflect the drafting position of the GM.

For my fictional online league I simmed 15 years, erased the history, dimmed five more years, then I assigned random numbers to each team. The first guy accepted into the league got team 1 and so on.
