OOTP HOF Calculator

Annoyed that in your 154 game season OOTP has too big demands for inducing to Hall of Fame? Tired of trying to calculate the proper requirements for your custom 123 game season in Fictional Laos Baseball League? No more!

The little application I have wrote (in free Lazarus IDE) helps you to calculate OOTP requirements for HOF. It automatically calculates numbers for the games count you have entered. You also have option to round number by 10 or 100.

Updated 07-23-2014
Changelog:
  • Added option to customize starting milestones (for example, if you want to start calculations not from 3000 hits but from 1765 hits)
  • Updated UI

Updated 06-19-2014.

Changelog:
  • Added "Default" button
  • Added option to adapt numbers to varying number of average game seasons (e.g. college baseball, 4 years instead of 15)
  • Added "Player Projection" to project whether the player will be able to enter Hall Of Fame, considering his current statistics
  • Added "Save to file" option in both "Main" and "Projection" pages. It saves to an ordinary TXT file
  • Added "Trivia" option to see number of games in specific historical MLB seasons.
  • Adjusted interface to hold more labels and buttons

By the way, would you donate for a software like this? This would be an incentive for me to update HOFCalc and to create other software for OOTP, baseball and sport fans. If you would, you can tell it below

It will if you will use WineBottler or something similar.

If many people will need this, I will recode it for Web.

I would appreciate an Excel version.

How do these utilities make their way over to the OOTP mod site?

Infractions: 1/0 (0)
Version 2.0 needs a button you can press whereby an AI that you have written screws over a random legitimate HOF candidate.
This AI then needs to be called 'Sports Writers'

I created a HOF voting simulator in excel, it creates vote percentages and simulates yearly progression. It is also completely customizable. It can be kinda confusing though. If anyone wants the file, send me a PM with your email and I will send you the file and readme.

Why not to put the file here or in another thread?

The file is too big to attach on the forums.

Is there a way for your program to calculate hall of fame qualifications for a 4-year, 75 games per year, college league?

Could you please elaborate differences between MLB and college league? And I don't know how many playing seasons MLB HOF qualifications is suitable for, if I am to adapt it to solid number of years (like 4).

Your idea is on my list

For MLB hall of fame in real life you need to have played 10 seasons, so that would be a reasonable baseline.

I don't think there is much difference, other than amount. I meant for their to be a separate College Hall of Fame. That way I could see who is the best of the best while in college. Additionally, I assume that the College Hall of Fame would need higher batting average and lower ERA specifications.

Well, it's for you to adjust the numbers higher or lower.

A bit delayed...

But here's an Excel version. Basically it does the same as dmytron's but you can change the default 162-game values in case you want to go softer or harder on who gets into the HOF in general. So if you think that 200 wins is too small in a 162 game league, you could up that to 225 and the spreadsheet will take that into account.

EDIT: I see dmytron's update, so think of this as just a simplified Excel version.

Please, move the thread back so that players not only of OOTP 15 but 14, 12, 8 and so on will be able to find and to use this little program.
