I think that a fictional league hockey game would be interesting. You wouldn't have to worry about making players that play like their real life counterparts or realistic looking arenas or anything like that. They can just make a game that plays well.

You guys are funny. Talking about competing with EA with a game featuring fictional players and teams... Most people who buy sports games would never consider buying a title that doesn't feature their favorite player.

Sad but true. It's the fan boys blindly spending their money on what's determined to be cool that fuels the economic engine to keep a game company afloat.
