Q about overall ratings
Ive got 2 batters in spring training, ages 26 & 28. The monthly reports show their current ratings for Contact, Power, and Eye all improve, yet their overall current ratings are falling; one's overall goes from 39 to 22, and another 46 to 23. I have scouting and ratings both set to the default. What am I missing?

Unless I am mistaken, when the game scouts, it scouts the league and then rerates the players to the league again so if a good chunk of the league gets better, it could make overalls go down. If those guys were called up for spring training too, their overalls would be off to the league as well.

I was wondering if it also had to do with my scout's ability and preferences

It certainly could, what is your scouting set to? Normal or high or 100% accurate, that could factor in too.

I've almost always seen guys plummet in spring training; it's because a component of overall stats (with default settings, I believe) is performance.
