Release date?

Was wondering if there's a release date yet.

The following is a public service announcement for those who are newer to OOTP and may be checking this thread:

I've been playing OOTP since the second version. About a month or two before every release, people start clamoring for an exact release date, or more specific information on when the game might come out.

Stop it. Just stop it right now.

You're only making it worse. I'm speaking from experience. I used to be one of these people. I get it.

But the more you ask, the more you beg, the more you wonder, and the more release date threads you create, the more agonizing the wait. I'm telling you, I've been in your shoes. Just be patient.

It's well worth it.

We will now return to our regularly scheduled program.....

Actually, the Rangers and Astros take the field on March 31.

MLB press release: "Twelve Opening Day games are currently set for Monday, April 1st."

Please stop. This is really irritating.

To be honest, I usually don't touch the game until the 2nd patch. By then the worst bugs have been stomped upon, and I can play the game with confidence.

I'm perfectly happy with 13. Just finished sweeping a 4 game set from my division rival. When 14 gets released and the 2nd patch is out, I'll be downloading.

Which says nothing about how many are set for other days.

MLB.com's own schedule page has the Astros-Rangers game on March 31, and Wikipedia also has the Texas Brawl for March 31.

But then, I doubt that the game will come out during the Easter weekend.

Just so no one, not even ADHD victims, can misunderstand: Opening Day is April 1. End of story.

Well, it's an indication of excitement, a good thing, as Martha would say. Just ignore it, unless somebody in the know happens to answer definitively.

Me, I'm kinda like the guy above who likes a bit of bug-stomping before I get excited. I'm looking forward to 14 but I dig 13 a lot right now.

Yes, yes, the next post will be from a guy who insists on starting his MLB league in 14 on the exact opening day for the real thing so he can check his daily progress, etc., etc., and he will be outraged if it's not released on April 1 although March 31 is the actual opening day, etc. etc. . . .
