Vern Handrahan - 1964

Among the current Ebay Topps Vault offerings are these two of Vern Handrahan from 1963. He pitched for the A's in 1964. I think we only have colorized offerings for him so far.

George Sisler - Senators - 1928

Here is a pretty rare photo that I recently ran across. It is Hall of Famer, George Sisler with the Senators in 1928. After 12 years with the Browns, he moved on to the Washington Senators for a total of 20 games before moving again to the Boston Braves for the rest of that year and two additional years.

Good stuff Braves70....!

It just so happens that I am working on the 1973 season and am looking for a Dave Cash for that year. Might anyone have one? Thanks!

The only 1973 Dave Cash that I have is this "in action" shot.

Pittsburgh Pirates - 1973

Since we posted Dave Cash from 1973 above, might as well continue my tribute to the old "lumber company.'

In 1973, the Pirates took the field for the first time without their great star and leader Roberto Clemente, who died during the offseason following the 1972 campaign. In honor of Clemente, the Pirates wore black strips on their sleeves and later placed a Clemente #21 patch on the sleeve of each jersey.

Perhaps due to the shock of events, the Pirates stumbled to a 80-82 record and finished 3rd in the NL East but only 2.5 games behind the 1st place new York Mets.

Thanks so much Braves70...continuing with the 1973 season might you also have a Gene Alley and John Morlan? Thx!

I have never seen anything of John Morlan other than his 1975 Topps card. I do not have Gene Alley from 1973 but I am posting this 1970 Gene Alley. If worse comes to worse, you could always use this one for 1973.

The "Mystery" Pirate

Thanks for the great pics of the 1970-75 Pirates. Does anybody have the "wandering" "mystery" Pirate? Have a clue...John Lamb? I only have seen a very poor photo and that was even up in the air whether it might have been McKee.

Thanks,

BRobby05

"Mystery Brewer" from 1973

Here's another name for you guys from the 1973 Brewers...Carlos Velazquez. The only pic that I ever saw of him is monochrome.

Thanks,

Here are a few confirmed photos of Lamb. As you mentioned, there is a photo commonly identified as Lamb which actually pictures Jim McKee. Interestingly, Lamb has been autographing that photo for many years.

I only have one Velazquez photo besides the one twice posted earlier in this thread, and it too is B&W.

I'm simply curious

The Richie Hebner image in Pirates part #4 has me wondering. When did they ever wear stripes on their pants in those uniforms? I haven't seen any other player image with stripes or have I seen them on topps cards from that era. Maybe only hebner wore them. It looks like a regular season game.
