Inaugural Draft - Not enough Pitchers?
Okay Inaugural draft of a fictional league. A fictional league model I've modified slightly seems like about 50 times now.
24 teams, 4 levels of minors, roster sizes are 5/7/13 or 5/6/14 in DH leagues. So this league goes thru the inaugural draft. When it's done my FA pool has about 500 batters, and Zero pitchers. This doesn't seem right. Any ideas why I'm getting this? Any settings you need me to post, in order to make an educated guess? |

Yes, check filters.
Problem I've found with OOTP is, if you happen to be on your lineup screen to go straight to FA's (I use a shortcut key) then it only lists batters. I have to change the filter setting to all players. Same if I'm on my rotation page. It seems to hold the setting for some reason. |

No, it's definitely not the filters option.
I'm going to try lowering the draft rounds from 135 to 130. That should give 25 players per team, then 30 at the rookie level. Hopefully all those (5 x 24) players will all be pitchers. Last edited by jhart05; 01-02-2015 at 08:59 PM. |

Yeah, that didn't work.
What I see now on the Rookie level is rosters of 20+ pitchers and not enough batters to field the other 8 positions. Guess I'll just have to bump it up to 140 rounds and deal with the 40-man rookie level rosters. |

I have not seen this... I usually get a nice mix when I start a new game and create a bunch of fictional players. I do end up with some some shortages but for the most part it works itself out by year 3 or 4. You could create each position separately i suppose.
