I don't use mac but the minimum specs for FHM on mac are as follows:

OS X 10.6
Intel Processor
1 GB RAM
1024x768 display
1 GB HD space

...If that helps at all? If not I apologies and hope one of the mac crew can help instead!

It will run easily on your new MacBook Air.

I can run this game at my MacBook Air and that was the very first generation of MacBook Air's so...

Just wondering about how ootp and FHM are on SSD's with writing and rewrites is there any reason not to put it on an SSD if I have a standard drive to run it off as well?

The game writes and rewrites a lot, at least ootp does so personally it's stayed far away from my SSD as it could potentially wear down the harddrive quicker. But for a lot of people it hasn't stopped them and I haven't seen any regrets or issues reported as a result.

I'm using it on a SSD with great results. My confidence is enhanced by a 3-year warranty on the SSD.

I back up to a network drive.

I have to agree with Dave, any write-intensive game like FHM, OOTP, or FM will probably take more time off the life of an SSD than you'd like. On the other hand, we've had no specific reports of the game sending an SSD to a premature grave, it would take a while for it to happen, and the things are getting pretty cheap, so if that's an acceptable risk to you, have at it.

I actually decided to monitor this on my ssd drive, playing through a couple months of OOTP14 and FHM each one only wrote about 20 mb or less to the drive in that time, not very much at all.

It will depend largely on the size of your leagues.

Run small worlds, not a lot of data to write.

Run huge immersive worlds with leagues all over the place, tons of data to write.
