Game not reaching lineups screen

I ran into a problem today that I hope someone can help me fix.

I am running a 28-team fictional league, 2 leagues, 2 divisions, 7 teams in each. I am about three games into my third season.

I clicked on my game on the schedule screen, which naturally brought me to the opening window. But I can't make it to the lineup screen because when I try, the bar gets about 95 percent full before stopping. Then I see an error message and the thing craps out on me. I backed up my file and tried uninstalling and re-downloading the game, but the same thing happened. I checked both teams lineups and they are filled in correctly, so it's not that.

The weird thing is I can sim all the games without a problem. I then tested it another way by just creating another fictional standard league and was able to get into the game screen there.

I'm at a loss as to what it could be. Two days ago, I got my computer back from the shop after having viruses cleaned out and everything was reset to its original setting, so it's not a memory issue either.

I have a SONY Vaio computer Model PCV-RX760 with Windows XP.

Thanks in advance to all those who helped.

I thought of that and turned all the sounds off (game, menu, etc.) but there's still a problem. "Initializing other games" is the name of the bar that gets stuck. Is there something with the other teams that's doing this?

I made some progress. When I turn off the out of town scoreboard, I can play. Anyone know why it would crash if its turned on?

It's definitely something with the scoreboards. When I played my game, the linescore at the top was blank. I had to keep clicking on the boxscore to remember what the score was. Is there a file I'm missing with the scoreboard animations because that explains the out of town one getting screwed up. Is there a solution for this?

Really not sure, I don't recall hearing of an issue like this before. Are your video drivers and direct X up to date?

I'm not that computer literate so can you please tell me where I can find that and what the settings should be? Is there a particular file that I could have deleted out of my league folder that I can just copy and paste from the regular career one? If so, what's it called and where can I find it so I can see if it is missing.

Thanks, Steve!

Thanks Steve, I printed it out and I'll check it when I get home.

It everything is OK there, is there something in the game or league folder that I might have deleted by accident when I transferred my files back in? What folder is the scoreboard usually kept or is there no such thing?
