Another Jewish fighter.
Erich Seelig Middleweight b. 1910-07-12 Bromberg, Germany Home: Atlantic City, N.J. (Seelig fled Hitler's Germany in 1933) Career, 1931-40 Record: 40-15-7 (8) Style: Boxer Fouls frequently CFB/S 9/10 HP 2 CKD 2 CKO 1 REC 2 CUTS 1 AP 2 KI 5 AGG 7 END 8 DEF 0 FS 2 OR 2 DP 3 CON 2 INT 10 PRF 10 FI 1 FO 2 CU 2 GK 1 CLI 69 Punches J 21.25/0 H 19/1 CR 21.5/1 CB 16.5/1 UC 18.75 PL 42 CP 40 PM 62 Rate 8 Seelig was the middleweight champ of Germany when Hitler rose to power. On the eve of a title defense, Seelig was threatened by Nazi goons, according to his biography at Jews in Sports. Seelig fled first to France, then to England and the U.S. He was stripped of his titles, and to this day Germany has never restored them. In the midst of this upheaval, he lost two fights to IBU middleweight champ Marcel Thil. Then he lost to Gustave Roth, the middleweight champion of Europe. Once he came to America, though, Seelig settled down. He knocked out the incomparable Mickey Walker in seven rounds in December 1935--the Toy Bulldog's last fight. Then he outpointed Paul Pirrone and moved up the ranks of middleweight contenders, despite a TKO loss to Harry Balsamo. After beating Ken Overlin and fighting Teddy Yarosz to a draw, he lost to Fred Apostoli and then a rematch with Overlin. Even so, he got a title shot against Al Hostak, who held the NBA middleweight crown. Hostak kayoed Seelig in the first--the only time in his career Seelig was ever counted out.

Heres a few more low-level straw-weights to again fill out the division.
First up is Katsuaki Eguchi. He's the brother of Kusuo who I posted earlier....neither were very good...but they actually did face each other in the ring with Katsuaki losing to his brother. Besides that he didn't face anybody in the game. Katsuaki Eguchi Japan boxrec - 045063 fought from 1990-1997 14-10-1 (2 KO's) Strawweight ctlb/s - 5/5 hp - 1 chkd - 3 chko - 4 rec - 4 cuts - 1 absorb - 2 KI - 4 Agg - 5 End - 6 Def - (+6) fast - 3 on rope - 2 draw - 1 Cond - 4 Int - 4 Prof - 10 FI - 1 FO - 1 CU - 2 go for KO - 0 clinch - 68 style - box Fouls - seldom punch - 30 Counter - 28 missed - 64 jab - 20 hooks - 20 crosses - 20 combo - 20 upper - 20 (all punches 2pt) rated - 1 next up is Mawanda Sineko who only faced one fighter in the game...losing a 12 Rd. Unanimous decision to Khulile Makeba (whose rated a 2 in the game). Sineko's biggest claim is he was never KO'd or TKO'd. Then again he never faced top flight competition...but still he must have had a fairly strong chin. Mawanda Sineko South Africa boxrec - 006684 He is an active fighter...since 1995...he just fought a few weeks ago. 16-6-2 (4 KO's) Strawweight CtlB/S - 6/6 HP - 2 chkd - 2 chko - 1 Rec - 2 Cuts - 1 absorb - 2 KI - 6 Agg - 7 End - 8 Def - (+4) Fast - 2 On rope - 1 DP - 1 Cond - 2 Int - 6 Prof - 10 FI - 1 FO - 2 CU - 3 go for KO - 1 clinch - 68 style - either fouls - seldom Punch - 32 Counter - 34 missed - 63 Jab - 23/.50 hooks - 16.75/.75 crosses - 19.75/.75 combo - 18.5/.75 upper - 18.5/.75 the game rated him a 3...probably because of his decent chin (these numbers seem to have a huge influence on the overall rating) Enjoy, Rasmuth

Here is Star of the book This Bloody Mary is the last thing I own. Featherweight "Sweet C". Colin McMillan. He advises Audley Harrison, He was supposed to be the next big thing, but had a recurring shoulder injury which impacted his chances. Considered to be an all around good guy of the sport.

Joe Benjamin
To accompany Dean's rating of Jimmy Goodrich, here are some lightweights from the Leonard and post-Leonard era, including some who participated in the elimination tournament to find a successor to Leonard. (Goodrich won the tournament, of course.)
First up is Joe Benjamin.

Bruce Flowers
Next is Bruce Flowers, another of the Jewish fighters that I've been rating for those who are interested.
Flowers beat Goodrich twice and also defeated Ray Miller, Tommy Grogan, and Spug Myers. He split with Stanislaus Loayza (who is coming), and lost to some of the best fighters of his day, including Jackie "Kid" Berg, Billy Petrolle, Honeyboy Finnegan, and Sammy Fuller.

Ever Hammer
The only time he was knocked out was by Benny Leonard in a lightweight title bout.
