When to relocate?

Another question here, I am wondering when is the best date to relocate a team, the beginning of the offseason, or the preseason? I think I remember (could be wrong), an old glitch that if you move a team before the preseason, it will show their new location on all the history a year early. Is this still the case?

Looks like no one is going to answer directly. Advice: Set up a small fictional test league, enable automatic evolution of the league in Options, then check only Team Relocation. Run an auto-sim for a few years (hopefully it's not very many years) and check twice a year: offseason and preseason. I am guessing that sooner or later the game will relocate a team on its own and you can take note of when it does so and whether everything looks OK. Then follow suit in your real game (but back it up first).

It doesn't matter. If it is a real MLB team prior to 2013 unclick league evolution. Or if you are past 2013 it should go through fine also. I renamed all my MLB teams as how they should be as far an abbreviations go NYY. NYM, CWS, CHC etc vs NYA, NYN, CHN. CHA
