Ceremonial first pitches

Ok, this may be a non-issue, but I saw it was Zombie night in Toronto and zombies threw out the first pitch.

Zombies. Threw out.......the first pitch.

In my best Butthead voice...."Uhhh. Ok"

Am I being the old man yelling at the sky again? I know MLB is trying to have more fun and wider range of events / theme nights, but zombies threw out the first pitch. I saw somewhere, can't remember where, maybe this forum, where someone had said that just anyone now can throw out a first pitch. It use to be someone of distinction or honor or importance. Where did that go?
I am no prude. I am all for theme nights and events at ball games. Some of the MiLB stuff is just hilarious. But...zombies threw out a first pitch in a MLB park.

Am I having a "get off my lawn" moment?

You have to do it 81 times a season. Every season. At some point you run out of ideas. And its a mid September game in Toronto. I doubt many noticed.

This is the Jays we're talking about. Fans probably couldn't tell the diff between the team & the zombies if not for the uniforms.
