Newbie Question
I've watched quite a bit of hockey over the years but I never fully grasped all the rules and strategy. That be the case, would getting the game be playable for me?

Keep the Manual open, and you'll do okay. Rely on the AI for some things, like getting started. FHM can teach you a lot. But having some background helps.

Adam is spot on - I've been watching hockey casually since I was a kid and more intently over the past few years and there's *still* things that I get confused on. The manual makes a lot of it super easy to understand, especially with the Tactics stuff that usually stumps me - I've got it bookmarked now so I can pull it up quick when I'm in game and trying to remember the difference between a 1-2-2 neutral zone and a 1-3-1.

Yea, you should be Ok. I'm not a big hockey fan, but I'm buying it for the sales price, as I'm a huge sports sim fan. I've played about every sports genre out there, and some(horse racing) I knew little about, but enjoyed the heck out of the game(Starters Orders 6).
Plus, if it's coming from OOTPD, you know it's going to be good, and backed by excellent customer service and consistent updates!! |
