I think this speaks for itself on how broken the trade suggestion system is.

I think a way that would help fine-tune the trading logic would be a way to designate a "Team Surplus" as a counterpoint to your Team Needs. A good IRL example would be the 2018 Mets - you've got 5 decent OFs (Cespedes/Conforto/Bruce/Nimmo/Lagares) that, depending on how you play, you'd probably be fine with moving for something else. But instead of putting them all on the trade block and taking a potential morale hit for 5 guys on your roster, you'd post that you're more willing to trade OFs than, say, starters. Not sure how difficult it would be able to code, but I think giving the AI direction in what you're willing to give up will at least mean you stop getting trade offers for guys you're never, ever going to move.

Yeah,
I'm gonna trade Nolan Ryan and George Brett for Kurt Bevacqua. I use it as a way to open up dialog.

I do too, but that's when there's something to talk about. When Manny Machado plus a first round draft pick is an "insult," the AI clearly has no interest in trading the guy, and it shouldn't be offering him to me.
