Playing out games as GM?

Hi everybody!

I am new to this game and I received my pre order copy today. I am amazed of it so far. Looking really good!

I have a question though: I want to play as GM only (not Gm/manager) as this seems more real to me. However, I also want to play out every game, every at bat. Is this possible? Can I still choose my lineup for the games and can I still choose to take, bunt, swing etc? Or can I as GM just "watch" the game play out in front of me?

If so, then I need to play as GM/manager I guess.

Thanks in advance to any answers that I get.

Go to your Manager options page, from there use the various dropdowns to assign control to yourself.

Ok thanks!

So that "overrides" the manager profiles where he is green, yellow or red in terms of letting me do things?

Nope, your manager is still your manager. The colour beside the strategy settings lets you know which of those things he'll let you influence.

Red - No
Yellow - a bit
Green - yes

I would recommend you play as GM & Manager from the sounds of what you want to do. You can still assign duties to other staff, such as your Assistant GM if you hire one.

Yeah, BN is right...it sounds like you really should play in GM/manager mode to do what you want to do.

Thanks for the help!

But one more question. Does the commissioner mode change any of this? I tried to play out a game as GM only, but as commissioner and I could hook my starter, despite my manager being red in that area. Does the commisioner mode override this?

Commish mode overrides everything - when in Commish Mode you are the supreme commander of your world.
