2013-2014 Dallas Stars

I'm going to be taking control of my favorite team, the Dallas Stars. I will hopefully be able to lead the team to many Stanley cups to go along with the one from 1999 (IT WAS A GOAL). I will be posting in-game monthly updates including team standings, player stats, league leaders, AHL update, transactions, injuries.

Hope yall follow along as I try to take the Stars back to the Glory days.

Go Stars!!

New GM and signing alert

Date: 8-21-2013

Last week, the Dallas Stars announced that Thomas Maddex has been hired as General Manager. Today GM Maddex has announced that the Dallas Stars have agreed to terms with free agent left winger Brenden Morrow. The contract is for 2 years worth $3.7 million per season.
Morrow, 34, started the lock-out shortened season the Stars before being traded by then GM, Joe Nieuwendyk, along with a 3rd round pick to Pittsburgh for young defensemen Joe Morrow and a 5th round pick in last years draft. Morrow has played 13 seasons in the NHL. In his 13 year career, Morrow has played in 850 games. Morrow has recorded 542 career points, 249 goals, 293 assists. Known for his physical play, Morrow has a career total of 1222 PIM.

Asked about why coming back to Dallas, Morrrow said, "Last year they gave me a chance to win a cup [In Pittsburgh]. Unfortunately it didn't work out. After seeing the improvements the stars have done, I feel that they are now a team that can win the cup."

Why, yes, yes I did.

btw, I am a hockey ref, and as a fan I view it as a goal. As a ref I have no comment on it.

Thank you. I was really sad to see Loui go, but you have to give up talent to get talent. And in the long term I think the deal works out perfectly for both teams.

I really do love this game, and because I don't really like changing my roster during the season, the stubborn gms (when it comes to trading) really doesn't bother me.

Going through my news feed, I found the following injuries:

Boston:
Chris Kelly out 6 months with a broken bone in the elbow

NY Rangers:
Marc Staal out 10 months with torn elbow ligament

Most of the injuries that are coming up in my news feed are for an average of 4 weeks.
