More EHM ideas

Just downloaded and tried eastside hockey manager
and i have to say, that all things considered, for 2001-02 or so, its a pretty good game
bettter than i thought it might be. I can see why you guys sort of have that as your model

Here a couple of comments or suggestions based on what I saw there. These will likely be things you already thought of, but here they are anyway

First is the easy ability to edit the players coaches and whatnot like ootp. there is an editor for
ehm, but it is a bit confusing to use- the ootp format of easy changes to everything is terrific

I would suggest- since the players will be rated in so many areas, if there is something that can turn out the way the baseball game does to turn it into statistics if we want to work with
made up or revised players. So say a 78 shooting, 79 passing, 84 skating, 43 checking, 56 hitting ect will turn out
into a total of modern game readout to be
28 goals, 35 assists, 71 penalty minutes, 67 overal defensive rating
That would make it easier as we create personalized games so i know what ratings to use if
i want to make a specific player.

I would be great if the news reports let you know of any of the big happenings in the games
If there is a 4 goal or 6 point night, a game with 150+ penalty minutes, ect. That way you don't have to go looking into every box score to find interesting games

A bit more interaction during the games would be good. First off the choice to coach every game, as ootp does, and then at least to control the line changes (for both teams if wanted)
style of play and whatnot

Ability to easily sim by- or even skip- things we may not want- ie preseason games. I like the
option in ootp to not have a spring training if i don't want it

The sliders they have is great- goals, penalties, fights whatnot. but instead of a number on the slider, as they have , like 120, 130 ect. I would suggest the sider is a number
ie GPG 5.75, 6.00, 6.25, 6.50, 6.75 ect. PIMPG 28. 30. 32. 34 ect... with a possability of a modifier like ootp has to go even higher if we want

I would suggest something i did for my strat o matic modifications, which was special ratings
for certain players. ie crease for Tomas Homstrom and Gary Dornhoefer which gives the D a
better chance to get a rebound on a shot, Rifle for Bobby Hull, Rggie Leach to overpower with a shot, Crazy for steve durbano or Paul Baxter where they can generate a major disturbance like running a goalie or attacking the crowd, Shadow for Craig Ramsey or Mike Pecca to really shut down an opposinng chosen forward. They are tiny things and
I am sure for a future round, but it made a difference between two 50 goals scorers
when Cam Neely had slot- better chance to score on an inside shot, while Guy Lafleur
had speed- better chance to pentrate and get a breakaway, or a regular fight betwen
Basil Mcrea and Bob Probert wtih his champ rating, and chance to energize his
team by winning the fight. If you are interested i would be happy to share with you all
the various special ratings i came up

Guess that is what i found so far.
Wishing you well in your project.
Look forward to a couple of screenshots as things
go along
