Arizona Coyotes - The Path of the Longest Drought
The Arizona Coyotes have been a struggling breed for the National Hockey League over the years, and are looking to make changes yet again with the addition to GM/Head Coach change that will see Terence Baker take 3 YRS to try what many have failed.
Mr. Baker was caught up with by the media and promised some kinda change "I am looking at the next 2-3yrs". Many fans feeling the pain of the teams continued failure, don't seem to be impressed. Baker was also quoted on adding he doesn't plan on doing to much movement throughout the first half of the season. "We will put some feels out there for a couple additions, but my main focus will to see what is here now, let the young guns play, and go from there." Even though you won't see to many changes to the guys on the roster, Terence did say "The staff members here will be getting an overhaul." Belows the changes made since Sept.17.2018 Arizona Coyotes Staff Changes: Returning Owner: Andrew Barroway Assistant Coach: John MacLean Skill Coach: Mark Bell Fired Assistant Coach: Scott Allen Assistant Coach: Alex Henry Assistant Coach: Corey Schwab Hired GM/Head Coach: Terence Baker Assistant Coach: Pierre Turgeon Defensive Coach: Scott Stevens Goalie Coach: Chris Osgood Scout: Andrew Tobias Scout: Peter Forsberg Scout: Chris Schinnour Scout: Axel Lafleur Scout: Dan MacKinnon Scout: Eldon Kramer The two trades made for the team looked at acquiring a high draft pick and the other acquiring a RD to complement the D here in Arizona and a young and talented prospect. Movements ARI Trade: RD, Kevin Connauton - RW, Conor Garland & Rights to RW, Erik Walli Walterholm in return, CHI Trades their 2nd RD Draft Pick (2019) ARI Trade: G, Darcy Kuemper - C, Dave Bolland - Rights to G, Erik Kallgren & 3rd+4th Picks (2019) NJ Trade back: RD, Sami Vatanen & Rights to LD, Jocktan Chainey Current Roster Though the moves aren't huge things for Arizona, the feel around the locker room seem to be well and good as shown by the recent preseason games! Pre-Season The coaching staff have taken a lot of risks with the younger roster put together here and looks like preseason has been a huge success with the 6-1 Record. The Regular Seasons on the way, and they hope for much more down the stretch. |

The Arizona Coyotes open up the Regular Season with the same success of the preseason, by making a statement against the Dallas Stars. The downside you can take away from the game is that Arizona had 5 chances to score on the power play, but were 0/5. Despite that, the staff seem to be motivating this young star team, and we look forward to seeing more from them. |
