The job to police society is not the commercial world. It is society's job to police society.

As I said in another post, if he in fact did throw a bottle/can of beer at a player during a play in the game, then he absolutely needs to be fired.

No. A thousand times no.

What needs to happen is, if it is determined he committed a crime, that he be arrested and charged for said crime(s). After which the legal system will take over.

I know it is in vogue these days to demand people be fired from their livelihood for actions that were in no way connected to said livelihood, but that attitude leads down a dark path.

Please read my 2nd reply in this thread....I said "if he in fact did throw a bottle/can of beer at a player during a play in the game, then he absolutely needs to be fired."

So yes, if he is found guilty, then he should lose his job immediately, especially since he works for a news outlet. There are countless examples of people doing something stupid on Social Media or caught on camera and their company fires them as soon as it gets out so they avoid the bad publicity.

Anyway...

Playoffs were pretty entertaining up until this afternoon. Quite a beat down the Rangers too.

I found it, including Bautista's 3-run home run to make it 10-0, enormously entertaining. Screw Texas. Too much emphasis on revenge not enough on playing baseball.

Like things that rhyme with Dodger Gazelle.

Man's Steph Curry Tweet Gets Him Fired
Curt Schilling, ESPN Analyst, Is Fired Over Offensive Social Media Post - The New York Times
Hydro One employee fired after FHRITP heckling of CityNews reporter Shauna Hunt - Trending - CBC News
Man kicked out of Madison Square Garden, fired from his job for yelling ?Carmelo, you stink? is now suing the arena | National Post
So if something is common, it makes it automatically right? Right.

People aren't fired for outside violations because of some kind of moral obligation business feels towards the community. They are fired because of "bad" publicity. Which is a silly reason and leads to, as mentioned before, an avalanche of bad decisions. Hollywood actors & musicians do stupid scandalous stuff all the time. And they don't get fired. Know why? Because the people in the studios have never wanted to take on that responsibility. So no one ever calls for them to get fired because they know the studios aren't going to do anything. Thus, they don't have the headache. When the actor is in jail, then they are "fired".

No one's job should govern a person's life when they are off the clock. Period.

Rangers still have the best record v. >.500 teams. Don't consider them out just yet.

Your example is like comparing apples and oranges. Enough on this, back to talking about the actual postseason.

Rangers pitching is smoke and mirrors. But it'll be interesting to see how they respond tomorrow. That offense is really good.

I'll be rooting for the Indians, AKA Cursed Team, Non-Media Darling Division.

But Mad Bum's up to his old tricks, so I think the Giants are gonna do their even year thing again.
