I miss Inside The Park baseball
I know it was a long time but it was good little game.
It was fun seeing how good a career you could put together. |

Good feedback. I often wonder in what directions that they can take this game in future versions and this certainly is something that could be considered.

If they ever brought that game back, they'd have to beef it up substantially. I remember there being very little to do.

I would enjoy a player mode added in OOTP...even if it only allows you to make contract decisions to control the players career to start with and than gradually built upon

I loved this game as well. I thought it had real potential to grow. I would love to see this game return as well, but it probably never will. I have not played it in sometime, but until a couple of years ago, I actually would occasionally get an urge to play this game, and would fire it up and still play it. I loved to try my player at different positions, and just see where my career went.

ITP was an interesting idea but it really wasn't very good. As ThKlein said, the meta game was alright but you had little to do as a player when games actually started. Also the AI's handling of players, yo-yoing them up and down like it does, wasn't compatible with an ITP mode of play. The AI still yo-yo's players up and down AFAIK. That's why you can't really play minor league management even now and it would need to be fixed before an ITP would work.
That said, I wouldn't buy this as a stand alone title but a well-thought out version of ITP as a game mode would encourage me to buy new versions of OOTP annually again. It seems like they're running out of ideas as to where to develop the base game and this might be an interesting new direction. Last edited by One Post Wonder; 01-14-2020 at 05:53 PM. |

I might add that it would be an amazing game on a mobile device.
