Historic Player codes
Hello. I am a month into this game and love it but am having trouble figuring how to find player codes for adding historic players. I successfully uploaded Tom Henke from 1987 using henketo01 but could not upload Tim Raines using rainesti01. How does this coding system work? Is there a reference somewhere on the site? I tried searching the forums but couldn't find anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Dubwicht |

It's no problem but I'll post for anybody else who might want to know.
1) You can look at the master.csv file in the stats directory or 2) Most of the time you can go the baseball-reference.com, look for your player and glance at your address bar http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...aineti01.shtml

You could also use my Historical Importer 2 which shows all the players with their lahman ID and Debut yr. A real time saver when you need to lookup things. version 3.0 plus could be used as well. The ids are on the vlookup sheet.
