Kiner 74 HR's in 1948!!

I'm replaying a historical league - MLB, starting in 1916. The computer is playing many of the games.

Heading into the 1948 season, Jimmy Foxx held the record for the most home runs with 60 (1932); with Babe Ruth right behind with 59, 58, 56, 55, 52. However, in 1948, Pittsburgh's Ralph Kiner it 74 HRs, 183 RBIs, and hit .393. Yes, he won the triple crown for the NL.

I have run 7-8 random debut leagues from 1901 - 2011 and in every single one of them Kiner has been the single season HR record holder.

I've played historical almost exclusively since 11. And years like that are the reason why. That's awesome.
