Relievers starting games

Not sure this is the proper forum for this but seeing as I am playing a historical game I will start here.

Due to a doubleheader, I decided to start a reliever with high stamina 82/100. He was completely rested and had not pitched in 5 days. He lasted about 50 pitches before progessing through tired to exhasted by the time he hit 60 pitches.

I tried the same scenario a second time with the same results.

The third time, I changed his role from reliever to starter prior to the game and he was good for over 100 pitches and lasted into the 7th inning.

I don't remember this happening in previous versions of OOTP.

Is the change in OOTP X?

It should not be working like that, but I haven't specifically been on the lookout for any such thing. Certainly, just changing his role shouldn't have any effect one way or the other. If not for the way you described your test, I'd guess that in the first instance, there was a rain delay. But that's the best I could come up with. I'll keep a lookout in my own league.

I've found out whats going on here,if a pitcher's role is starter,he takes longer to recover but once he does,he's able to go longer distances(if the pitcher has the overall stamina in the first place) If he's set to be a reliever,he recovers much faster but dosen't last nearly as long as he would if he were a starter. This was also present in OOTP 9 as well.In case I wasn't clear, here's an example. My pitcher Dick Ruthven has a stamina rating of 75 but I use him as a reliever, and although he just pitched 50 pitches 2 days ago he's at 100% stamina. If I change his role to starter,he stamina immediatelly drops to 63%

Thanks buddy.I actually love that the game does this.It really adds another layer of strategy to the game.As for Ruthven,I'm really caught in the middle with him.I don't want to carry more than 10 pitchers, but I have two rookie starters who I'd like Ruthven to share time with, this is impossible if I keep him as a reliever.I love it.
