Goalie Stats WAY Out

Is anyone else finding this?

The problem is that 4 and 5 star goalies struggle to get above a .905, even on stacked teams. Vasilevskiy is a perfect example, he's a 5-Star goalie and through three seasons on the stacked Tampa Bay Lightning his SV% has been .901, .898, .901.

It isn't just this one team either;

Bobrovsky: .894, .910, .910
Quick: .894, .902, .910
Hellebuyck: .893, .892, .903

Meanwhile 1.5 to 2 star goalies have outperformed these guys in save percentage(on worse teams) because they're taking a ton of shots. (2.5* Anton Forsberg with a .918 on a team giving up 38 shots per game)

The 5 best teams in shots allowed(lowest) in year 3 have starters that were ALL below .910.
Goalies: Anderson(3.5*), Varlamov(3*), Vasilevskiy(5*), Allen(3*), Gibson(5*)

I'm not sure if that's related to the problem, but figured it might be helpful data. Would be great to have it cleaned up as it really kills the immersion to see these star goalies performing this poorly.

Yeah, we're aware. It seems to be the long-range shots that are too effective right now; if you check the defenceman shooting percentages, they're quite a bit higher than they should be. We've been making gradual changes, those save percentages are actually up from where they were in early testing.

Good to hear that it's a known issue. Otherwise I've been thrilled with the game but I'm a bit too particular on stats to ignore it.

Thanks!

Any chance we could expect a fix/improvement for this with Friday’s release?

Yeah - looks like the last attempt at improving it didn't do much in the internal build, we're trying something new now that'll be in the Friday release.

For anyone wondering it is definitely improved, but still quite inconsistent.

I saw Hellebuyck get .911, .918, .913. Vasilveskiy .903, .918, .918 in the first 3 years.

Matt Murray was able to get a .925 in the second year, but was under .910 before and after that year.

Still nobody topped a .930 in any of the test sims. Better, but still not realistic(which I think is really the core of games in this style).
