I plan to make a global league with all of the hockey powers in one league together.
There will be a North American conference and a European conference, with teams from Russia, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Norway, etc etc. |

IHL - International Hockey League and of course they will still compete for the Stanley Cup. The conferences may not even play each other except for the SC final to keep it relatively realistic. It may be elsewhere but can I ask what are the maximum number of teams allowed when creating a custom league? |

So far here is my custom league. I will start a dynasty thread based around the league operations acting as Commissioner and letting the league unfold on it's own once FHM2 is released.
International Hockey League (IHL) NAHL – North American Hockey League – 16 Teams Boston Bruins (USA) – New Jersey Devils (USA) Calgary Flames (Canada) – Colorado Avalanche (USA) Chicago Blackhawks (USA) – St.Louis Blues (USA) Dallas Stars (USA) – Arizona Coyotes (USA) Detroit Red Wings (USA) – Nashville Predators (USA) Edmonton Oilers (Canada) – Winnipeg Jets (Canada) Montreal Canadiens (Canada) – Quebec Nordiques (Canada) New York Rangers (USA) – New York Islanders (USA) Ottawa Senators (Canada) – Minnesota Wild (USA) Philadelphia Flyers (USA) – Carolina Hurricanes (USA) Pittsburgh Penguins (USA) – Columbus Blue Jackets (USA) San Jose Sharks (USA) – Nevada Sidewinders (USA) Toronto Maple Leafs (Canada) – Buffalo Sabres (USA) Los Angeles Kings (USA) – Anaheim Ducks (USA) Vancouver Canucks (Canada) – Seattle Sasquatch (USA) Washington Capitals (USA) – Tampa Bay Lightning (USA) EUHL - European Hockey League – 16 Teams Astana Snow Leopards (Kazakhstan) Berlin --- (Germany) – Munich Redbull (Germany) Bratislavia Eagles (Slovakia) Brussels Royals (Belgium) - Amsterdam Tigers (Netherlands) Copenhagen --- (Denmark) Helsinki Jokers (Finland) Kiev Flacons (Ukraine) London Knights (U.K.) Minsk Bison (Belarus) Moscow Red Army (Russia) – Moscow Dynamo (Russia) Oslo --- (Norway) Prague --- (Czech Republic) - Vienna Capitals (Austria) Riga Magicians (Latvia) – St. Petersburg Soldiers (Russia) Stockholm --- (Sweden) – Frolunda Indians (Sweden) Zagreb Blackbears (Croatia) Zurich Lions (Switzerland) Both leagues would compete separate from one another until the IHF Cup finals, though both will be able to trade players and draft picks. The NAHL competes for the Stanley Cup while the EUHL competes for the Gagarin Cup. The winners of those cups would compete for a new cup yet to be named. Teams in either league have a minor league affiliate listed beside them, though some I'll have to make up for the EUHL. I translated the European teams to more english sounding team names or gave them new ones so everything sounds a bit smoother. Some have yet to be named still. Beside each team is their country of origin. Last edited by DaximusPrimus; 03-02-2015 at 07:22 PM. |

Just a note, that the fictional leagues come preloaded with specific set schedules.. I don't believe it's possible to have one with no play between conferences.

In FHM14 I'm pretty sure you could change the league settings to have the conferences only play against teams in their own conference. If I can't completely change everything in a custom game I suppose I could just use the basic game and change the team names to reflect my own changes. It would take a bit of imagination but I plan on posting it all online so a few edits in paint can fix anything for aesthetics sake.

I'm pretty sure the head of PR would know better than you about what you can and cannot do in the game.

As long as this feature from FHM14 still remains, you should just be able to set the Games vs Conference Teams to 82 and then generate a new schedule and save from that screen. The game then generates a schedule where you play only teams within the same conference. I've tested it, it works. You can even limit that to games only against the teams division. The options already exist for this. |

My apologies DaximusPrimus for the false information. You are indeed correct about that feature in FHM 2014. Let me check into it for FHM 2 as off the top of my head I'm unsure. I'll get back to you on that. |

In FHM14 I was able to create a league based in the US+Canada but I was able to edit the teams to be in any nation in the world. The only things I could possibly want is more stability. |

The screen Daximus posted was from the 'league edit' screen in FHM 2014 as opposed to league creation... However, I do believe I was right the first time after checking into this. Some of the same functionalities that were in FHM 2014 in terms of custom leagues won't be in FHM 2, as the greater number of structures means more chance for varying errors to arise. That way to tweak the schedules appears to be one of those things. |

Sorry I used the word "structures" when I meant to use the word "schedules" in the post you quoted. There are the same league structures, yes.
