My first crack at Baseballl Cards (1986 Topps Theme)

So I've tried to figure out Baseball car templates today and I always had an affinity for the 1986 Topps set as it was the only set I completely collected solely by buying packs.

This was created more in the spirit of that set as some things seem to be impossible to replicate using the elements and tools available.

Check it out

They look pretty good to me. My only issue is that I don't like the zoomed in faces. I can't remember if that can be prevented. Other than that they look good.

You can set the zoom for the player's picture using facegen_zoom="in/normal/out/random". If you don't use it, then it uses the users facegen zoom settings from their game.

I was just looking at the '86 cards yesterday and thinking that it was a version that had yet to be done and could fit within the limitations of the OOTP xml.

Nice work!

I don't think there's much that needs fixing. imo, the player's name should be centered vertically on the HoF and AS cards and the third year down (2009 on that card) looks like its indented two spaces farther than the other years and the foruth year down (2010) is indented one space farther in.

The graphics look good. '86 is a plain and simple card you you made it look good. I particularly like the regular one.

I think the indents in the stats are due to the new fonts in the game. If you look at the runs in the 2nd year and hits in the 1st year they are to the left a bit. I don't think there is anything that can be done in the xml file to make stats area line up better.

The team name on the front of the card seems a little small. I would play more with the font height to see if it can fill up more of the black space. It might also look more like the '86 card if it was just the team nickname, but that is more of an aesthetic choice.

Thanks, but like I said, I did the best I could with what I know. I've had the font height as high as 70, but it seems to not get any bigger after 36 or so. I included the city name in order to fill in the space.

Is there some way to increase the font height more? Do the height and width need to be proportional

Played with the font size a bit and it looks like you're right about 36 being the max, I tried both college and vera and didn't get anything bigger. I thought I had used a larger one before but looking back I see 30 was the largest I used.
