Is it possible to assign team numbers to specific teams?

I'm wondering if it is possible to assign the team numbers in a schedule file to specific teams. For example, assume a 12 team league. In the schedule file, the teams are numbered from 1 to 12. Is it possible to tell the program which team is supposed to be 1, which team is 2, etc?

Thanks!

I wish! I asked the developers several years ago for exactly this feature, but I don't think schedules are a top priority for them.

I believe the Team Numbers on the League Structure page match with the Numbers on the Schedule from the Online Manual pages on Schedules... Not the Team/Franchise IDs, the Team number...

I have been experimenting with this over the past few weeks, and I think I might know the answer? From what I can tell it looks like schedule IDs are just assigned alphabetically, division by division. For example, I'm looking at the league I'm playing right now, which has 7 teams in its first listed division: Boston, Buffalo, Hartford, Montréal, Ottawa, Syracuse, Toronto. In the schedule, the opening day matchups are 2@6, 7@1, 3@5 with 4 playing an interleague matchup, and sure enough, we had Buffalo/Syracuse, Toronto/Boston, Hartford/Ottawa and Montréal playing an interleague matchup. This does not match the order of their team IDs on the structure page, so it's not that.

I still don't know precisely how OOTP rotates teams if you use the same schedule file in back-to-back years - I have a rotation of several schedule files set up in this league so that works differently.

EDIT: This only appears to consider the city name. If you have two teams with the same city in the same division, the order they're assigned IDs is still a mystery to me. It doesn't take the team nickname into account (for me, the two Chicago teams and two LA teams were flipped from what it would be if it were purely alphabetical, but the two New York teams happened to be right).
