Series Preview: ATL Braves @ Citi Field (3-Games)

Having an 8.5 game lead on the Braves in the NL East is a big help.
But this team is stingy and they wont go away easily.
Ozzie Albies, Adrian Gonzalez and Nick Markakis are the guys to watch at the plate.
Julio Teheran is still their best pitcher and we will face him in this series.
Sale, Kluber and Syndergaard will pitch against them in this set of three.

ATL Braves 2
NY METS 5
Citi Field

Chris Sale gives up 2 runs on 7 hits while striking out 8 batters.
Aroldis Chapman picked up his 5th save on the year.
I tried to give it to Kenley Jansen, but he was ineffective.
Carlos Correa smacked his 4th HR on the year.
The Braves had 8 hits and the Mets had 4 hits but we came out the winner in this game.

Have to keep on going, just like it says.
Corey Kluber has another good game, striking out 8, while giving up 3 runs on 7 hits.
The bullpen finishes the job.
Jose Altuve and Aaron Judge had two hits tonight.
We win another series and will try for the sweep tomorrow night with Thor on the mound.

ATL Braves 1
NY METS 6
Citi Field

The "Mighty Thor" swings his new Stormbreaker Axe and destroys the Braves.
He gives up 1 run on 3 hits with 6 Ks to his credit.
Francisco Lindor belts 2 HRs, his 2nd and 3rd, Aaron Judge also hits one, his 11th, and Bryce Harper smacked his 5th.
Lindor was 2-3 with 3 RBIs for the day.
We sweep the Braves and now prepare for the Rockies.

Series Preview: COL Rockies @ Citi Field (3-Games)

The weekend series will feature the Rockies for three games.
This team should be better than their record suggests, so I expect a decent challenge from them. (AI CHEATS?)
DJ LeMahieu, Ramiel Tapia and Chris Iannetta could give us problems at the plate, not to mention Trevor Story.
Their pitching, though, is terrible with Jon Gray being their ace.
Personally, this should be another series sweep.
But, you never know when it comes to OOTP.
Kershaw, Strasburg and Sale will get the starts for the weekend.

COL Rockies 3
NY METS 5
Citi Field

After giving up a quick HR to COL David Dahl in the 1st, Clayton Kershaw settled down and got his 4th win on the year.
He only gave up the 2 runs on 5 hits while adding 9 strikeouts to his yearly total.
Kenley Jensen got his 7th save of the season, although I classed it as an ugly save for he gave up a HR to COL Chris Iannetta in the 9th.
Mike Trout went 3-4 and hit his 10th HR of the year.
Bryce Harper added a HR as well, his 6th.
The Mets did leave 10 men on base.
We have to learn to get those runs in.

We left 11 men on base!
Totally unacceptable as the Rockies hand us a loss.
Strasburg pitched well, only giving up 3 runs on 7 hits.
The lineup was able to get on base but we could not get the runners home.
Francisco Lindor did have two hits in this game.
It was wet and rainy at Citi Field and that might have had an impact on the players.
It will be up to Chris Sale tomorrow to help us win this series versus COL.

We have yet to lose a series this season as the Mets win the rubber game of this one over the Rockies.
Chris Sale goes 7 innings and gives up three little hits.
Mike Trout smacks his 11th HR of the year.
Giancarlo Stanton hits a pinch-HR, his 2nd in the 9th.
The Mets batted around in the 9th and hung a six-pack on COL.
Stanton had 2 hits today, leading the Mets line-up as a pinch-hitter as he came up twice in that inning.
A good weekend for the Mets as we head back on the road for the upcoming week.

This Week in Baseball---NY METS

There really isn't much to say except that the Mets are running on all cylinders with two exceptions.
Nolan Arenado I took out of the lineup for a while and put Daniel Murphy at 3B.
Buster Posey will catch while Gary Sanchez will take a bench spot.
They will go back into the lineup soon, I guess they just need a break.
The pitching is just fine, no need to make changes there for now.

Series Preview: CIN Reds @ Great American Ballpark (3-Games)

The Reds are playing a little scrappy right now and every time we visit Cincy, they seem to play us rather well.
With players such as Scooter Gennett, Joey Votto and Billy Hamilton, you wonder why this team doesn't have a record above .500
But then you look at their starters and you get your answer, with Brandon Finnegan as their only ace.
We should win this series.
Kluber, Syndergaard and Kershaw are the aces for this three game series.

CIN Reds 4
Great American Ballpark
(11 Innings)

The Reds have the worst starting rotation in baseball and we lose. (AI CHEATS!)
Corey Kluber goes 6 innings and gives up 3 runs on 5 hits with 5 Ks.
Aroldis Chapman took the loss in this one.
Giancarlo Stanton hits 2 blasts, his 3rd and 4th, but it was all for naught.
Carlos Correa had 2 hits tonight as well.
Charlie Blackmon and Mike Trout both go 0-5.
Bad night for those guys.
