Schedule merging

I ain't the best to work on this so before I try it myself it cost nothing to ask.

It would be really appreciated if somebody would merge the National League and the American Association schedule from 1882 to 1891 (as played would be perfectly fine).

The reason I ask is because those two leagues had some kind of interaction and it's impossible to re-create this if they are set as two different leagues. So I want them as two sub-leagues (NL/AA) of what will became the ML in 1901.

also having them separated create a problem with the players career stats as the leagues are separated and each one had its total (the problem will appear later for the HOF and the records).

Thanks in advance!
Jimmy

You know you can import schedules individually for each subleague? You do not need a merged schedule file.

I didn't know...

So it means that when 82 happen I will do it this way and everything will be fine :

Actually I have a Major League set with only the National League as a sub-league

1. I add a subleague to my ML for the American Association,
2. I load the 1882 schedule for the National League,
3. I load the 1882 schedule for the American Association.

Never realized before the schedule were at sub-league level and not league level (as the first time I play real 19th century I did create 2 differents leagues). When I think I was asking myself how you did it in your dynasty for quite a while

Yes. That will work -- and that's how I did it .

A word of warning if you intend to continue into the 20th century. The schedule files for the merged AL/NL requires that the AL be sub-league 1. This means you need a placeholder for the AL prior to 1901. I created a Barnstorming League with a single club: Barnstorming Team. No players. No scheduled games.

Would it be the same if I do this in 1901

1. Add an un-named subleague to the ML,
2. name the National League American League,
3. name the new sub-league National League,
4. move the team where they are supposed to be?

I supposed that will mess the award history but will it cause other problem?

Your awards and history will look messed up, but it should work. I haven't that however.

Tried it sooner this morning and it worked perfectly. Just one thing to notice for the others who will try it in the future : Don't forget to adjust the number of game each time you load a schedule (took me some try to realize it as the NL and the AA didn't have the same number of game in 82).

Thanks again for the fast solution!
