Post Quick Tournament Payouts & News Tomorrow

Hey guys,

just a quick heads-up, we have adjusted the payouts for future Quick-type tournaments. Our data indicated a few of these tournaments were kind of exploited, so now they are all treated pretty much equally in terms of payouts.

And tomorrow will be a big day, as we'll have some great specials launching. Stay tuned!

Cheers,
Markus

So I notice already that the DOD 8-team tournies have been downgraded from 500 PP/250 PP (per type) down to 200 PP across the board. Are there changes in the 16 or 32 player tournies as well? Or is that it?

Yes. I believe 16s will change to 2 packs for winner/1 pack runner-up, and 32s will change to 4 winner/2 runner-up/200pp for 3rd/4th.

I assume the dailies won't be reducing rewards, right? Perhaps that will encourage more people to sign up for the dailies/ better chance of filling them when they offer clearly better rewards than the quick tournies?

That was the idea, too. Dailies remain as lucrative as before

In that case, how about some bronze or iron dailies? There is only one iron tournament right now, scheduled to start at the end of the week, and it's full. All of the bronzes are quickstarts.

I play the silver and gold dailys regularly, would be nice if bronze got one too.

More Diamond and iron tournaments please? A higher Cap league(80)? A no legend player tournament?

I like the pack rewards rather than points. Nothing really comes out in my packs but I enjoy the experience of opening them regardless .

Cutting down the 8 mans is fine since that is just fast PP spam, but why the 32 silvers? Sheesh

32's -- win 3 best of 7's in a row (then lose) you get 200 pts.
16's -- win 3 best of 5's in a row (then lose) you get a pack.

EXPLOIT!

win 1 more in each case get 2 packs (or 4 packs if you win 2 more in the 32)

Quick Tournament Payouts & News Tomorrow

I wonder if cutting back the 8-team 500 PP games is actually driving players to other tournaments.

We have three teams (my boys and I) and two compete in longer Gold/Open/Cap tournaments.

The third team competed in the shorter T8 tournaments and kept us busy and at the computer while trying to get a 500 point reward for our team.

At 200 PP, we don’t feel the urge to join T8s or sit at the computer waiting for other tournaments to start.

Waiting for tournaments to start with nothing to do (200PP reward is too low) actually made us walk away and play fewer tournaments across all levels.

It used to take us 3-4 wins to acquire a new or better silver player (many are expensive now) and easily 10-20+ wins for a better gold player (again, collections and tournaments have made many players more expensive).

In this regard, I am actually ok that a few teams across the entire population gained more than others and used tournaments and PP rewards to better their teams.

Hopefully data shows that we are an outlier and the reduction in PP (2000->500->200) produced the desired result.

It was clear from the beginning that we would be making adjustments to the tournament list and the payouts over the course of the first few weeks / months. This is a learning experience for us, we need to try some things and then see how it works.

This seems to be happening:

Me User post: Love Best of 3 format, dislike DoD.

Devs: Eliminate the best of 3 and keep DoD.

DoD is good for other sports but not baseball. The DoD was just an easy payout. Bo3 was very entertaining, Please bring it back? Not sure why is was eliminated?

I personally prefer a quick 8-team DoD over Bo3... it's a matter of taste As I said, we will make further adjustments in the future.

There are two daily 64-man silver Bo7s that always fill up 8 hours early while 32-man Bo7 fires every hour.

There are no daily/weekly bronzes despite having the 32-man Bo7 fill up every hour too.

Just put bigger tournaments in the formats people are playing and want to play. You aren't getting 128 teams signing up for an open tournament to be whale fodder even with the extremely enticing 90 Zach Wheeler reward.
