Giveaway/Takeaway
Events that are described as a "giveaway" on the scroll are often counted as "takeaway" in the box score. I can't find any pattern in the games I've played out but it's quite frequent and I remember bringing this problem up in FHM5.

Was the description "Taken away by..."? That was poor wording in one of the Giveaway text lines, I just fixed that. There are a few others where the wording is a bit ambiguous, but I think that should probably stay as it is, since there's subjective opinion on the scorer's part involved, so there should be a few plays that sound like they could go either way.

By "scroll" I mean the highlights that scroll down from above the rink image. I've just watched a period of a game where four events were described as "giveaway by X" when the both box score and stats screen had recorded three of them as "takeaway".
Also quite a common play by play sequence when a player is trying to get the puck out of his defensive zone is, for instance ..."Carter tries to clear" immediately followed by "but it's kept in by Carter". Doesn't seem to make much sense. Couldn't the play by play be given a bit of attention? |

Ah, I see, that sounds like one or more of the takeaway events is creating the giveaway highlight instead of the proper one. We'll figure out which one it is.
The text for the second one seems to be written correctly, we'll check if there's something going wrong with the names that are being passed to it. |

Thanks for the response Jeff. There are several other play-by-play oddities/bugs that I've come across, I'll try to get exact wording and situation.

Just came across another PBP....similar defensive situation, "Carter tries to clear it off the boards" immediately followed by "Closed off by Carter".
