Bts
Hey Guys,
I was looking for a football simulator that allowed me to edit the plays that my team used, instead of just using what was given to me (such as in EA NFL/NCAA games from what I've found). While looking for such software, I came across two different options: BTS, which isn't released yet and seems to be missing a developer; and PlayMaker (About PlayMaker | PlayMaker Software). Now, I haven't been following the development of BTS at all and I've only spent about an hour searching around, but I feel like PlayMaker is what BTS wants to be. Aside from some weird bugs (I had a game where the opposing team kept making penalties until the LOS was at their own end zone and then ran the clock out over there), it isn't half bad. Has there been any attempt to contact Brian and get him onto the BTS team? |

I think BTS "wants to be" a little more than a collection of tools that lets people design plays and play individual games.

I agree. However, if their goal is to make BTS similar to OOTP (but for football) then the basis of the game is using those simulation tools to design plays and play individual games. I don't design video games for a living, but it seems like if they could leverage something that is already made for their game it could save on development time/costs.

I don't think you can design plays in V1....maybe I'm wrong though.

I would be happy enough if BTS just let me call plays, set up a custom league, use fictional players and handle finances.
And, for me, a "can't get fired" option is an absolute must.

The "can't get fired" option is a must have. (I don't personally use it because it makes the game more interesting.) But yes, being able to have control over playoffs is a must for me, because making custom playoff match ups in a fictional league is the best way to do it.
