The Astros welcoming into 2020

I was thinking about this a few days ago and was kinda split in my own opinion. How do you all think the Astros will get through the season? Do you think there will be retaliation by the other teams since the Astros seem so lazy and unapologetic about the scandal?

I know they'll get hammered with boos and jeers in every park but their own! Probably the Red Sox as well?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Boos for sure. I don't think retaliation, since I assume everyone is cheating at this point.

I'm certain they will set a record pace for HBP to start the year.

Mostly against teams that are bent that the Astros blew the cover from this scheme.

Dusty won't like that. All those extra runners clogging up the bases.

Cheers at home, boos on the road maybe for the first inning or two before road fans get bored, it's ok booing 1 player every at bat as he'll only have 4 at bats but to boo every player every at bat takes some doing and most fans dont have the attention span nor the energy HBP I'm betting it'll just be like normal, the umps will have warned the opposition teams before the game and will have them on a tight leash.

If fans decide to focus their ire on a few players instead of the whole team that will keep booing within their attention span.

I think that the fans will surprise you with the level of vitriol with which they will target Astro players. Not certain about the Bosox players as nothing has been said about any trashcan clanging or in depth cheating analysis. On top of that they have yet to be penalized.
I was listening to a baseball podcast today where they were talking about how the cheating repercussions could have cost players, specifically pitchers on other teams their jobs. It was downright awful and after hearing this I think that the top performing Astro players should have been suspended for the 2020 season.

MLB thought it couldn't have an investigation without giving immunity to everyone. What? Don't these guys watch cop shows?

The way its done is you start with a lower guy who doesn't know much, and tell him (lie) that you have a lot on him. Then tell him you'll consider no charges if he tells everything he knows.

Then you go to the next guy and tell him what you know from the first guy without revealing the source and then make up some stuff and say you know it (y'know, the lie routine again) and then tell him if he confesses AND implicates others you'll reduce his sentence.

On and on until you get to the top guy and you tell him you won't ask for the death penalty if he tells you where the body... er... garbage can is buried.

Anyway, they didn't have to give everyone full immunity to crack the case (and I'm not sure they've completely cracked the case).

So you play a good team and to “punish” them you put extra runners on base?
There is still a lot of idiocy in baseball.

Dusty Baker thinks too many base runners clog up the bases.

In addition to thinking you can have too many base runners, Dusty Baker thinks home runs kill rallies.
