question on pitch development
hi all
this is for a historical league i think its spritze database- drafted players come in with low rating (some with higher potentials) and you develop them for about 2 3 years before they can contribute at the MLB level. no scouts no coaches i have two pitchers -starters having trouble developing that third pitch player A age 23, 2.5 stars with 3.5 potential, now in 6th year pro ball 2.5 years in minors not rushed up as ratings indicated he was ready currently he has max his ratings st 6 mo 7 co 6 which in this in the 60's is not bad. pitcher are .(current/potential) fb 7/7 cu 2/6 slider 6/6 work ethic high intelligence normal player B age 22 2 years in minors up this year to big club doing very well as a reliever 2.5 stars with 4 star potential stu 6/9 mo 8/9 co 4/5 fb 8/8 cu 2/5 6/7 work ethic normal intelligence high i have not seen ANY improvement on the third pitch since been drafted. with only 2 real pitches they are only being used as a reliever. i have tried pitcher A as a starter but he got rocked pretty bad and then moved him back to the pen. i have another SP who was in AAA same two developing pitches but the third 2/5 is there anything i could be doing to speed up the pace or even start the pace on developing that third pitch so they could be a starter. both are doing very well this year in the pen. player A has pitched for about 3 full years already do i just need more patience? or send them back to the minors to start down there? any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks
