More assistant coaches = Better training?
Does the number of assistant coaches you have on staff increase your training effectiveness? Or are the extra assistant coaches just dead weight?

Only the top-rated coaches factor into the training score in a given area (I think it's the top two plus the head coach, if I remember right), so hiring, say, 5 coaches who are good at working with goaltenders won't have any additional effect.

So you need to hire 2 assistants for each position?

You don´t need to but as Jeff wrote: more Assistants (up to a limit) will give a slight bonus in each category. That reflects teams with the money to spend more on coaching staffs to have better possibilities.

And most assistants will have more than one strong category, so one guy can cover your needs in multiple training areas.
