The Greatest!
After what seems like a lifetime of collecting ratings etc etc. I am now ready to start up a new universe.
It's basically an 'all time' take on the various weight classes. The tournament will start off in a knock out format, with over 20,000 different ratings it could take some time! I'm going to start off with the first round of the Heavyweight invitation involving 3,651 entries at present. The first batch of 100 fighters has already been chosen. These guys will be randomly paired with the winners going through to the next round and the losers going into a box off repechage (I think I will seed this part). So after the first round approximately 900 pugs will we dumped out. After the first round of the Heavies is complete I will gradually introduce other weight classes and let them battle it out under the same format. I have yet to decide on the format of the later rounds. The 'big guns' in the first batch of 100 include Jimmy Young, Melio Bettina and Charley Mitchell. |

Round 1
The first batch of fights in the Heavyweight division have been completed, resulting in the elimination of 25 fighters from the tournament.
The most notable sufferer was Manchester based Tyson Fury. After being stopped by Freddie Schott (left), Fury had his 'last chance' against Columbus based Derek Isaman (right). Isaman had too much for Fury and ran out a comfortable points winner. Last edited by Tosti; 08-18-2011 at 06:52 AM. |

Sam McVey to meet Jim Savage
The second tranche of heavies are drawn up.
The draw keeps the big boys apart but throws up a handful of decent scraps. Vince De Venti V Wayne Bethea (left) Bruce Woodcock V Jack Darlington Bernard Trebault V Ezzard Charles (centre) Sam McVey (right) V Jim Savage Monte Nunn V Billy Daniels Martin Burke V Paul Poirier |
