Walkers news: Sept. 1 callups

The Memphis Redbirds may be in first place in the South Division of the AAA Pacific Coast League but they will have to move forward without two key bullpen arms.
Their parent club, the St. Louis River Walkers, have called up a pair of relievers as part of expansion to the 40-man roster for September.
Coming up is Redbirds closer Adam Wegner and left-handed reliever Willams Jerez.
The 33-year-old Jerez was acquired by St. Louis this season in a trade on July 31 with Toledo.
He had pitched in just four games for Memphis owning no record and one save to go with a 0.00 ERA.
The 25-year-old Wegner has been the Redbirds' closer for much of the season.
He is 2-4 with a 4.59 ERA in 37 games having recorded 25 saves.

Walkers news: Sept. 9 -- Chicago 8, St. Louis 5

Note: This game featured a glitch I was unable to resolved. Started the game last night but had to stop after six innings. When I went to complete the game, it started up in the first inning but with a score of 4-2 with Chicago in the lead. Both starting pitchers also had been exhausted. Although none of the batters had any stats. I just played it out with the G-Men coming away with an 8-5 win.
Record: 81-57, 1st, 5.5 GA Springfield
The only thing I can saw about the game -- since I have no idea how it got to 4-2 before it even started -- is the Chicago outscored St. Louis 4-1 after the River Walkers pulled to within 4-3 in the bottom of the second after Rhys Hoskins scored on a passed ball by catcher Logan Cerny.
Cory Acton connected for an RBI single off Walkers pitcher Jimmy Lambert in the fourth, making it 5-3.
St. Louis' Jean Carmona hit a solo homer off G-Men relief pitcher Tony Cebero in the bottom of fourth, slicing the margin back to 5-4.
Chicago scored two more off Lambert in the top of the fifth.
Jarred Kelenic drove in both runs with a single.
Kelenic later hjt a solo homer off reliever Luis Palomo in the seventh as Chicago went up 8-4.
Cebero (1-2) went the first 3.1 innings, allowing three runs on two hits.
Luis Ramon Silva got the game to the seventh inning.
Dalvin Rosario, Drew Steckenrider and James Pazos all pitched a scoreless inning apiece.
Pazos notched his 34th save.
