Congrats to the Sox. Cardinals were lucky to win one game, let alone two, the way they were playing. I feel bad for Beltran, though. He was one of the few Cards who played like he wanted to win. At least it wasn't a sweep like '04.

I'm hoping the progression keeps up for Matheny. Blow a big lead in the NLCS, blow a small lead in the WS...then actually win it. I doubt it, though. S.O.B. just had to have Miller warming up at the end...pour salt in the wound, why don'tcha?

Aw, Twitter's gonna light up with a giant ****storm, and I will sleep through it.

Like said before, RISP batting killed the Cardinals. They certainly had chances to score runs in this game as well, but couldn't pull out nearly enough to make it close in the end.

I'm pretty sure that MLB's YT channel is gonna allow US viewers to watch their archives of every spring training, regular season, and postseason games right about now.

MLB.tv has all the games since 2010 anyway, so they would not really need to make *everything* available someplace else.

What else would anyone expect Ortiz to say?

Cardinals scored seven runs in the seventh innings of all games combined in this series. Unfortunately for them they only scored in four other innings in the whole series. 14 runs from 45 hits is extremely poor.

Like I said before, regular season RISP means nuthin' in October.

I'm off, it's 5am. Good night over there.

The Bruins, Patriots and Celtics twitter accounts all congratulate the Red Sox. The Celtics made an awesome poster for it, as well.
EDIT: The Pats made a poster pre-game.

Yeah, pathetic clutch hitting and lousy bullpen management conspired to make it so they were lucky to win two games! I hate that vocal minority of idiots. I blame them for Matheny getting hired over Oquendo in the first place. And worse, for giving Cardinal fans a bad name. Go root for the Dodgers or somebody, morons.

Man, you guys who are Red Sox fans really need to savour how lucky you are to be living through this period of success they have had during the last ten years.

I wonder what superstitions the Sox-Dodgers trade will give rise to a century or so from now...

"Another 100 years Sox? I think so!"

What about another year and a half?

Yep, should have said Boston sports fans in general, but considering the heartbreak that preceded 2004, just imagine being a lifelong Red Sox fan who had died at any point between 1918 and 2004...

Congrats to the Boston Red Sox - the 2013 World Series Champions. I'm a die hard Cardinals fan and I salute the Red Sox for a title very well deserved. The Cardinals were a total joke. Awful managing by Matheny, hitting coaching by Mabry, offense and defense. Each game, the Red Sox were more than ready to play and the Cards? Well, imo, they were more than ready for winter vacation.
